I don't quite understand your English nor which steps you have taken.

But if you want to go back to windows, please choose the first title, line one in the grub4dos menu, and then select Microsoft Windows in the boot.ini menu.

Did you use LiveCopy or Live SysBack or StillCopy or Still SysBack to create the .dsk image?

The error you described probably suggests your .dsk image has no system files inside.

Please read the above tutorials carefully and install g4dimdiskerunt.zip and dala.zip before you make your .dsk image for use.

If you have not downloaded vshadow sample code from Microsoft website for use, then you could use StillCopy or Still SysBack to create your .dsk image file for use.

After that, you should run bootimage.exe inside g4dimdiskerunt folder to select the .dsk image file for booting.

OK. If you have read the tutorials and still could not make it, I think it is because the .dsk image is not made successfully.

There are several reasons for this:

1. your hard disk surface has errors; resulting in --> Run up Diskless Angel and choose Tools menu and select Build Disk Image -----> but erro "can not read data".

2. you have not used bootimage.exe in the g4dimdiskerunt.zip to select the .dsk image file you made -- this may result in -> "A disk read error occurred.Press Ctr + Alt + Del to restart"

3. for error "no ntldr", please mount up the .dsk image file with imdisk using offset 32256 and see if there are any system files inside. If it is blank, you have to make it again. If only ntldr is missing, copy ntldr into it. And probably, you have made it from another system partition besides the first primary partition and in this case, please see this thread for more information:

4. after making the .dsk image successfully, please put this on FAT16/32/NTFS partition, putting in on a compressed NTFS partition may make it impossible in most cases to be read and loaded up by grldr.

5. please also check if your memory modules (RAM modules) are installed correctly and good for use and are sufficient to take in your .dsk image file. The formula is your RAM should be > your .dsk image file + 128MB in size for xp/2k3 to run.

That means you do not have enough memory (RAM) to fit your .dsk image file.

Try to use StillCopy to make a smaller .dsk image file for use.

Just boot up your computer and then run la and use StillCopy using your system drive as the source. This will make a minimal .dsk image file for booting.

Remember to use bootimage.exe to select the .dsk image file thus made.

Buy more RAM for your computer or buy another new machine that can take more RAM for use if you want to use larger .dsk image file or boot a large system partition of your hard disk into RAM for use.

I thing this ok.I try do it again many time but not ok.

Please describe how you make your image step by step and how you boot it up step by step and at which step error comes out.

In particular, paste your boot.ini and menu.lst here for examination.
