When the Build Disk Image screen comes out, press the Input Box Button and the Choose File Name screen will come out. Then select Local Disk:

Pressing the Select button will bring up the Partition Editor Screen:

In the screen above, you can identify the system drive by matching the drive size and the partition size.

It is here [ad0s1]*

So select it and press OK. This takes you back to the Choose File Name screen:

Press OK. This will get [ad0s1]* to the Input Box. And you then press the Output Box button to specify the .dsk image file to be built. This takes you to the Choose File Name screen again:

Here you either type in the filename of the .dsk file you want to build or you use the Browse button to browse to the location where you want to store the .dsk image file and then type in the .dsk image filename in that screen:

After browsing to E: drive where diskspace is sufficient and typing in the name as

stillsys.dsk

and pressing Open, the filename E:\stillsys.dsk will be put inside the Output Box:

After pressing the Build button at the bottom of the screen and waiting for a while, a Still Bootable System Image is built into E:\stillsys.dsk image file.

You can then use this .dsk image file as the source for doing StillCopy.

If you want to make a bootable system image using StillCopy, remember also to have the default Add System tick.

It is then just like LiveCopy except that the system drive image is not in the system drive but in the .dsk image file E:stillsys.dsk that you specify as the Source.

You can also add other .txt or .cfg file as the User Option File to include others files which are present in the Source to be included into the image to be built.

Still SysBack is to Live SysBack as StillCopy to LiveCopy.

This means you cannot make a bootage system backup using Still SysBack by specifying the system drive as the Source without using Diskless Angel to make a bootable system image .dsk file from the system drive partiton first.

The following attachment shows what is missing in an xp system when doing a Still SysBack on the system drive as against doing a Live SysBack on the same:

These files are not copied using Still SysBack but copied using Live SysBack.

This missing file list is generated by using the Make List File button by comparing 2 filelists generated from the Target for each of Still SysBack and Live SysBack.

StillDelete Source uses a filelist specified in User Option File to delete such files which are found in the Source.

This is useful if you want to customize your image by excluding certain files you want to exclude.

For example, after building a LiveCopy bootable system image, you can use:

core_nano_cxp_del.txt

as the User Option File to remove all filenames listed inside the txt from the Source.

A LiveCopy bootable system image usually is about 250MB or so in size when built just after system boot-up.

After applying the above _del.txt file, the image size can be reduced to about 160MB and yet it is still bootable.

You can also design your _del.txt to make it smaller even.

In order to avoid mistakes, the name of filelist file to be used for StillDelete Source has to be in the form of:

*_del.txt

That is the last 8 characters of the filename has to be _del.txt

So StillDelete Source uses only 2 parameters:

User Option File

and

Source
